The Mystery of the Toad
Before the Inquisition, the toad was a symbol of rebirth throughout medieval Europe. The ancients induced visions by ingesting a hallucinogenic fungus that grows on the toad’s skin. To the Chinese and Native Americans, the toad was a keeper of the real who taught the mystery of immortality.
Ms. Toad was set to expire from metastatic breast cancer long ago, but she persisted! After several courses of treatment, her doctor claimed she was cancer-free, but there was a caveat. "Eventually, you will experience skin breakdown." Freshly healed, she didn’t want to hear it.
Instead, she fixated on Life and became a healer. Once she realized she'd lived long past all expectations, she wrote a book as an offering to those who are ready to start their own inward journies to the sacred state of healing. I am Briah Jardin, aka Ms. Toad. My healing odyssey began in earnest when I was forty. As of this posting, I am seventy-two. At long last, the doctor's prediction has come to pass. The medical interpretation of skin breakdown translates to basal cell carcinoma. It's not the life-threatening type of cancer that invades organs. Instead, it spreads upon the surface.
